After 31 long years, President Muhammadu Buhari has fulfilled the
promise he made to the Golden Eaglets in 1985 before his government was
overthrown by the Ibrahim Babangida military junta.
He gave N2m each to member of the 1985 Golden Eaglets, the coaches got
N1.5m each. Promise kept! He also met other athletes who made Nigeria
